Anatomically-complete dolls for health and law enforcement professionals to help child victims visually communicate assault information. This app is valuable for traumatized children who are unable to verbally describe an attack on themselves.

This app was designed by licensed therapist Gail Sabo, who has 20 years experience helping abused children in the Florida foster care system. In many cases children who have been assaulted dont have the words to describe an attack. While lifesize anatomically-correct dolls traditionally have been used to gain information from a child about a crime, those dolls are expensive and often look quite different than the child. Boys often refuse to work with dolls. The app offered here, Anatomical Dolls, has been used with success by Gail. It effectively breaks down the cost and the stigmas attached to traditional dolls. The dolls can be made to match the childs skin color and physical appearance, and children seem more willing to work with the app than with lifesize dolls.

Tap the colored tabs from top to bottom, creating a doll by selecting gender, age, hair and skin color of the victim. Drag clothing items from clothing tabs to match the childs attire at the time of the event. Once the dolls look is complete, tap the camera tab at the bottom to show front- and rear-facing child. The child should tap on the screen to indicate the places on the body where contact occurred. A rectangle or rectangles are displayed where the child taps.
